9.10. Setting up an Assemblage workstation in a SharePoint environment
Note: This procedure assumes that Assemblage has been installed in your SharePoint environment. If Assemblage is not in SharePoint, please contact Trumpet (support@trumpetinc.com) to set up a migration project.
Procedure
- In SharePoint, navigate to the Assemblage Folder
- Click the Sync button
- If prompted log in to OneDrive to start the syncing
- The Assemblage folder will appear in Windows Explorer under SharePoint or OneDrive
- IMPORTANT: In Windows Explorer right click on the Assemblage folder and enable "Always keep on this device" (this is critical - it will not be possible to run the Assemblage application properly)
- Wait for SharePoint to finish syncing the folder to the workstation (small green marker icon will appear on the files and sub-folders in the Assemblage folder in Windows Explorer)
- Launch the Assemblage.exe application
- If prompted to install the private Java runtime, click OK to install it (this is a one time installation requirement on a new workstation)
- The user can now launch Assemblage.exe from that folder
- Optional: Set up a desktop shortcut for the user that launches the Assemblage.exe application
Note that it is very important that the Assemblage folder have 'Always keep on this device' enabled. It should look like this when you right click on the folder:
