Home → Guides :: Symphony OCR → FAQs → How to reset NetDocuments 'servermod' legacy document search cutoff
For NetDocuments legacy searches, Symphony OCR uses a feature in NetDocuments called 'servermod'. Servermod is an internal tracker that NetDocuments maintains of all changes to a repositories documents. When Symphony searches for 'legacy' documents, NetDocuments only provides the set of documents that have actually changed since the last time Symphony made the request.
The Servermod approach greatly reduces the load on NetDocument's servers.
Because of how servermod works, if a user explicitly deletes a document record in Symphony OCR, that document will not be re-found.
If the deletion was accidental, the user has two options:
1. The user can search for the document ID in the 'Lookup' screen. This will force Symphony to immediately 'find' the document. Please see https://support.trumpetinc.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=2429 for details on this option.
2. If there are many documents, or the user does not know the NetDocuments doc ids, the Symphony OCR servermod tracker can be reset, in which case Symphony will re-find all documents in the NetDocuments repository. Any documents that aren't already in the Symphony OCR database will be added for processing.
To reset the Servermod tracker:
Symphony OCR will automatically run it's legacy search and the missing documents will be added to the database. You can check the progress of the legacy finder in the Finders screen.
