You may find that you are unable to find documents and that the indexer is not performing it's normal "steps" but still performing it's nightly update and you have the following message on the screen:

No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Control Panel.
In order for .msg files to be text searchable, Outlook must be installed on the Indexer workstation, but it doesn't need to be configured for a user. You may receive this message if no Mail profiles have been created on the Indexer workstation. When the indexer attempts to read a .msg file to update the text indexes, it will be unable to do so unless you have a profile created.
To gain access to your documents while the root problem is still being resolved, Perform non-indexed searches
Navigate to the Control Panel and select the "Mail" icon.
Add a profile (you can name the profile "Indexer" or "Other", etc).
You don't need to complete the set-up, simply Add a Profile.
