Symptoms

Users are unable to perform full text searches for any document. 

Further, when users select a document and click Preview in Worldox, they get the following error dialog:

A Problem was detected, logged and bypassed.

Note: The above error dialog is a generic dialog that can appear in many situations.  This article only applies if the error displays while previewing a document.

Background

Worldox relies on 'viewers' to provide preview AND text content reading functionality.  If the viewers don't work, then text indexes cannot be built, and the preview functionality will fail.  Presently, the Worldox viewers rely on the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable library.  This library is installed on most computers, but can be missing in some scenarios.

If the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable library is missing, the viewers will fail.

Resolution

1. Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
2. Confirm that Preview now works
3. Re-initialize the Worldox text indexes
