Symptoms

When attempting to launch Worldox with Microsoft Word already open, the user receives the following dialog:

Cause

According to Worldox, this happens when there are 2 valid entries for the startup path of Word in the registry.  To fix, "break" the older entry of Word.

Workaround

The immediate workaround is to close Word before launching Worldox.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, you must remove the invalid registry entry.  For example, if the following 2 keys are in the registry:

HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word|STARTUP-PATH - (Valid startup path for Word 2013) *and*

HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word|STARTUP-PATH - (Valid startup path for Word 2007).

Remove the key for the version of Word *not* in use.

Hint:  Try renaming "HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word|STARTUP-PATH" to "HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Twelve\Word|STARTUP-PATH"
